During today’s meeting, the Cabinet of Ministers failed to approve the updated macroeconomic figures for the 2009 State Budget, announced Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko. Tymoshenko also noted that the President’s representative criticized the proposals despite the fact that they were prepared in a highly professionally manner.
She noted that this issue is being discussed and its review has been postponed until the next Cabinet session.
“We’re ready for compromise, ready to work as a single team, and ready by next Wednesday to take into consideration all the issues the President has with the macroeconomic figures,” Tymoshenko added.
As reported, the Cabinet’s draft law on the 2009 State Budget was registered in the Verkhovna Rada on September 15.
On September 10 the Cabinet approved the forecasted macroeconomic indicators for social and economic growth for Ukraine in 2009.
Inflation (December to December) was approved at 9.5%; GDP growth - 6%; growth in industrial production – 5.7%; growth in prices for industrial products – 18.5%; growth in average nominal salaries – 17.3%.
