Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko states that she is to implement the President’s commission on the conclusion of gas agreements with Russia being guided by urgent need of the country. She stated at a press conference today.
“As soon as all draft agreements of NJSC “Naftohaz” and “Gazprom” elaborated, I will go to Russia to sign them for Ukraine,” she stressed.
At the same time Yulia Tymoshenko urged the Presidential Secretariat of Ukraine not to provoke and not to spread statements such as if “somebody goes to report, because it is ridiculous, childly and does not comply with the status of politicians who lead the country”.
“I would like to disprove ridiculous statements that the Prime Minister goes to Moscow to report about something,” she added.
Besides, Yulia Tymoshenko stated that she is surprised at the Ukrainian President’s stand on this issue: “Frankly speaking, I am surprised when within one hour the President proclaims two slogans: the first – “hands off the Kremlin!”, the second – “cheap gas”.
At that Yulia Tymoshenko stated that it is not necessary to additionally agree with the President instructions concerning the signing of agreements on Russian gas supplies to Ukraine: “Governments of Ukraine and Russia are working at signing a long-term strategic agreement for a long time already, and we need no instructions”. Yulia Tymoshenko also informed that during negotiations with Russian side the liquidation of all without exception gas mediators between Ukraine and Russia is under discussion.
