Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has once again blamed the president in the collapse of the democratic coalition as part of the battle for the second presidential term.
She stated this during a press conference on Monday.
“I once again want to stress that unfortunately the destruction of the democratic coalition started from the first day of its creation,” stated Tymoshenko.
She presented a large folder that contained the President’s criticism of the government. The Prime Minister also brought up the blocking of government laws, actions plans, social and anti-corruption initiatives.
“For many months I kept silent and took a vow of silence to support the situation and absolutely support the democratic coalition,” stressed Tymoshenko.
“No decisions were passed to show from the first month that this government can’t work and that the Prime Minister is an incapable leader. All of this was preparation for the reformatting of the coalition through the dismissal of the government and destroying me as a hypothetic competitor during the presidential elections. This was the man reason!” she stressed.
“That’s why they disregarded the country, its interests, its strategic European choice – in order to ruin an election competitor,” she added.
“Why have power for another term if there’s no peace, tranquility and normal work between the president and government during this term, and only intrigues,” said Tymoshenko.
According to her, “the first to not bear the situation in
Tymoshenko quoted segments of this statement: “In politics there is nothing more dubious than a president who in despair grabs for power and in doing so brings ruin to his country. With his actions, Yushchenko has joined a long list of rulers who sacrificed their country’s future solely to continue their clumsy leadership.”
Tymoshenko also underscored that the destruction of the democratic coalition became real when the President and the head of his secretariat removed two deputies - Rybakov and Buta - “who are Baloha’s closest people and are under the command of the President.”
She also explained that “Mr. Baloha together with several specially placed people from the Party of Regions held talks about the creation of a new coalition.”
“And that’s when the initiative on the government’s dismissal was started, the government’s dismissal was put to a vote, and not knowing how the voting will turn out, some people from the Single Center gave their vote for the government’s dismissal, thinking that the rest of the parliament will vote for the government’s dismissal,” reminded Tymoshenko.
