Even a decision by the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) won’t change the government’s position on the prospects for Vanco Prykerchenska working in the Black Sea shelf.
Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko stated this today, calling the NSDC’s decision on this issue “contrary to Ukraine’s national interests.”
“There is no force that can change the government’s position that insists that the Black Sea shelf, which contains strategic natural gas reserves, will belong to the people of Ukraine. There are no forces, no decisions, including the decision by the National Security Council. We believe that it is not in line with Ukraine’s national interests,” stressed the Head of Government.
“While our team is in politics – in power, or not – we will not allow anyone to take away, on a corrupt shadow basis, Ukraine’s strategic reserves of natural gas on the Black Sea shelf,” stressed the Premier.
