The Government will enlarge categories of the citizens for indemnity payments for disaster damages. This was disclosed by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko while visiting the flooded village of Ustya-Zelene of the Monastyrskyi area of the Ternopil region.
As Yulia Tymoshenko noted, the first category, in addition to the citizens whose houses had been completely ruined, will include the citizens whose houses had been badly damaged and need complete overhaul. “While visiting all destroyed by the disaster settlements I see that losses are not completely considered and promised compensations are not paid in proper time,” the Head of Government stressed.
The PM also noted that badly damaged houses would not be reconstructed but new dwellings to be built instead of them.
The second category of suffered citizens, according to Yulia Tymoshenko, will include the citizens of significantly damaged houses and the third – families who have lost vegetable gardens, farms and citizens whose houses are lightly damaged.
According to the Head of Government, to date above 2 thousand families received 50 thousand compensations and above 30 thousand citizens – assistance of all categories. The PM noted once more that these are advance compensations and later on amounts of compensation for losses would be increased.
Yulia Tymoshenko also urged the representatives of local and central authorities to unite and provide highest possible help to the suffered citizens. “Visiting such regions gives us colossal information in order to take right decisions,” the Ukrainian Premier said. She also added that tomorrow during its sitting the Government would take a decision to enlarge categories of suffered citizens.
