Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko plans to hold a meeting with agriculture representatives on August 4 to discuss the harvest and sale of grain.

 

This stated this during the opening of the “All-Ukrainian Field Day 2008” exhibit in the Dnipropetrovsk oblast.

 

“At 10 AM on Monday, I want to gather all agrarian, farmer and agriculture associations,” she said. 

 

During the meeting they will also discuss the allocation of funds received for the development of the agro-industrial complex thanks to the approval of amendments to the 2008 budget.

 

As of July 30, agricultural enterprises of all forms of ownership have harvested 23.4 million tons of grain and leguminous plants.

 

For the 2008 harvest, 15.6 million hectares of grain crops, including 7.6 million hectares of spring grains and 8 million hectares of winter crops were sowed.
