Premier Yulia Tymoshenko promises to dismiss three governors who are fighting inflation the worst based on May figures.
Tymoshenko announced this in summarizing the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
“The government approved a decision whereby an appeal will be made to dismiss the governors of the three oblasts with the greatest inflation in May,” she said.
Tymoshenko reminded that according to the law the governors are subordinate to the Cabinet and also offered them assistance from the State Reserve.
“If the government and governors work together, inflation will stop,” she said.
Tymoshenko also noted that the warning applies not only to those governors that were invited to the government meeting, but to all the other oblast leaders.
