The government will put together a Concept for developing the Black and Azov Sea shelves.
Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko stated this today during a briefing.
“We need to return to correct development of the hydrocarbon resources of the Azov and Black Seas and follow state interests. I know that there will be colossal opposition to this government decision, that they will put a deadlock on Ukraine,” she said.
The Premier noted that globally 60-70% of resources on continental shelves are developed by state companies, and only 12% on the basis of production sharing agreements.
“I don’t want Ukraine to be treated like Papuans, who give away gold mixes in exchange for children’s rattles. I don’t want Ukraine to look like that,” said Yulia Tymoshenko.
