Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko believes that it’s not normal that the government has no influence over governors.
She said this during a briefing, commenting on the Presidential Secretariat’s demand that summons of governors to the Cabinet be approved with them.
“Unfortunately, today governors aren’t allowed into government meetings or Cabinet sessions. Soon we’ll create a network of secret apartments for meetings with governors,” joked Tymoshenko.
“Or we’re going to start leaving each other notes in the tree hollows here in Mariyinsky Park so that, God forbid, the governors don’t find themselves being dismissed,” she added.
Tymoshenko noted that “according to the Constitution, governors are subordinate to the Cabinet of Ministers.”
“The fact that the government is cut off from local executive structures is a waning of the current leadership and the Constitution in its current appearance,” stated the Premier.
