Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko is convinced that President Viktor Yushchenko will support the government’s initiative to hold early mayoral elections in Kyiv

She stated this during a press conference on Sunday, March 16.

“I know the President’s position on this issue. I am convinced that he knows every point of the coalition agreement, and that’s why I’m convinced that he will support the idea of holding early elections in Kyiv,” said the Premier.

In her opinion, suspending Kyiv Mayor Leonid Chernovetsky from his duties for 15 days is “delaying the moment of truth, and will definitely not solve the problems that have accumulated in Kyiv.”
