Thursday, 22nd of June: during the Parliament session, Yulia Tymoshenko declared the creation of the democratic coalition.

“The great honor was given to me, to announce the news which were much awaited by the whole country. To this minute, the coalition of BYT, the Socialist party and “Our Ukraine” is already exists”, she said from the Parliament rostrum.

“It is important to note, the coalition is born today, on the 65th anniversary of the beginning of the struggle of Ukraine's people and other Soviet nations against the aggressors,” she added.

“Today we begin our struggle to make Ukraine democratic, to clear our country from all the corruption mud, to make ourselves proud of Ukraine, which is what our grandparents, parents and all the people who fought for independence were dreaming of,” said Mrs. Tymoshenko. “We won our victory back then, after five years of struggle, and we are going to became winners again. Such is the sign. And I want to congratulate the Ukraine’s people and the Parliament on it.”

The Parliament deputies greeted these words with the applause and the approving shouts.

Finishing her speech, Yulia Volodymyrivna added: “I have got only a couple of seconds left to say the most important words: long live Ukraine!”

Later, the acting Chairman of the session, member of the Parliament presidium Adam Martyniuk officially declared the proper forming and registration of the majority coalition, in accordance to the section 83 of the Ukraine’s Constitution and to the sections 61, 62 and 63 of the Parliament order.

The coalition was formed by 239 of the Ukrainian Parliament deputies, members of BYT, “Our Ukraine” and the Socialist party of Ukraine.
