“I will certainly go to the summit. Ukraine is chairing and will be represented with dignity,” Tymoshenko told journalists. Commenting on her earlier statements, Yulia Tymoshenko announced that she believes that she acted honestly by warning Viktor Yushchenko of a possible break in their cooperation in sight of the next presidential elections. “The democratic coalition has been working for 4.5 months and we’re constantly informing you of what’s going on. When there’s a need to call things as they are, I do so, so that everything is understandable for society and our partners,” said Tymoshenko.

“The government approved a decision whereby an appeal will be made to dismiss the governors of the three oblasts with the greatest inflation in May,” she said. Tymoshenko reminded that according to the law the governors are subordinate to the Cabinet and also offered them assistance from the State Reserve. “If the government and governors work together, inflation will stop,” she said.

Premier Yulia Tymoshenko does not rule out that she will call for the dismissal of governors of those oblasts with the highest inflation. Tymoshenko stated this in the Verkhovna Rada on Tuesday. “During the government meeting tomorrow we will review the activities of five governors from the oblasts with the worst inflation,” said Tymoshenko. She announced that a draft law has been prepared according to which the governors and leaders of the administration are responsible for price policy in the regions.

“I think that today all the parliamentary factions and the president have agreed that changes to the Constitution are necessary,” noted Tymoshenko. “I believe that this work needs to be done by everyone together, not by created groups that will issue constitutional changes. This work can only be done in the Verkhovna Rada. Our team will be an active participant in the constitutional process. On Wednesday the Cabinet will review the question of allocating special expenses from the state budget to implement the Law “On the capital.” Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko stated this during a rally in Kyiv. “We have expenses that will be allocated for metro stations, district transport, for Kyiv.
