Yulia Tymoshenko congratulated Ukrainian boxer Volodymyr Klitschko on his victory over Russian boxer Sultan Ibragimov for the title of WBO heavyweight champion.

The full text of the greeting:

Dear Volodymyr!

I congratulate you on your victory in this intense, edgy and beautiful fight.

Not for a second did I doubt that you would demonstrate the highest class and skill, and triumphantly return to Ukraine with the title of world champion.

You have once again demonstrated Professionalism with a capital “P” and have shown the whole world that Ukrainians are capable of true breakthroughs.

I am certain that people like you, Volodymyr, are currently doing more for Ukraine, for its recognition than all the politicians, deputies and officials together.

I am proud of you, as are all the people of your fatherland.

I am happy that people in 250 countries of the world turned on their televisions and watched Ukraine’s glory grow.

I’m proud that at least half the country woke up especially at 4 am and rooted for our Volodya with all their heart. I believe that Ukraine will be a great, powerful and fortunate country, because it has such great sons!
