Dear Compatriots!

I wholeheartedly greet you with this grand event in the history of our country - the Day of Unity of Ukraine. I am deeply convinced that this event is an important milestone in the Ukrainian people’s struggle for freedom, which will remain in the memory of today’s generation and those to come. The idea of unity that was proclaimed on the square in front of St. Sofia marked the rebirth of the Ukrainian state and national dignity. It is not in vain that in our prayer for Ukraine we asked the Lord, “God, give us unity!” Because as the people say, “Where there is unity, there is strength!”

We don’t consider the various traditions and unique historical experience of every corner of Ukraine to be a problem, but rather a sign of the cultural wealth of our country. This trait has become the foundation for the formation of the individuality and uniqueness of our nation.

Symbolically, this year Unity Day coincides with the 90^{th anniversary of the day of declaration of independence of the Ukrainian National Republic by the IV Universal of the Central Rada. For me, this day is important because the independence of a state is directly related to its integrity and unity. I am deeply convinced that each one of us knows and understands this. All social surveys show that our people want to live in a united country, in peace and harmony.}

We are obliged to draw conclusions from lessons in our history and see that Independence and Unity are always an integral attribute of our state.

On this Day of Unity of Ukraine, I wish you happiness, health, and strength! Our strength comes from unity!
