Dear compatriots!

On August, 24, 2007 our native Ukraine celebrates its Birthday – 16 years of state independence. For a man it is the age when passport is issued. It is the age of the first maturity. And exactly this year for the first time receive passports citizens of free country - those children who were born already in independent Ukraine. Let this generation be happy, let all of us be happy on our great Motherland.

It is my sincere desire that Day of Independence of Ukraine became main holiday for everyone, regardless of place of residence, faith, political tastes, social status. I dream, that such prominent dates could unite the nation, give forces for the new accomplishments in the name of great, saint Motherland which we all live on.

I greet all compatriots with the Day of Independence! I wish happiness and good to all citizens of our state.

We are the great country, we are brave people. We will overcome everything, we will succeed in everything! I am absolutely convinced, that time is near when all of us – in Kyiv and Donetsk, in Lutsk and in Sevastopol, on Zakarpattya and Polissya, will be proud of living in Ukraine. We will make our Ukrainian Breakthrough and certainly will build such state which we deserve. The state which will be admired by the whole world, when words “Ukrainskyi uspih” (Ukrainian success) will be quoted without transcriptions and translation.
